FAQ

No insurance? No problem

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

While the terms ‘functional medicine’ and ‘functional nutrition’ are often used interchangeably, they aren’t technically the same. Functional medicine is a broad medical approach that treats medical diagnoses as a part of a system breakdown in your body. In contrast, functional nutrition highlights the ways that diet and lifestyle is a fundamental component of health and can exacerbate or ameliorate many physical problems. Chiropractors are not licensed to practice medicine, so the above distinction is an important one.

Dr. Kat will put together a holistic health plan that takes every aspect of your health into consideration. For these reasons, functional nutrition is never one-size-fits-all. Instead, it is a highly customized holistic health perspective.

The Clinical Nutrition Process may include:

  • Comprehensive evaluation of previous medical history
  • Review of laboratory testing
  • Review of organ systems
  • Review of medication and supplement history
  • Review of current diet and lifestyle habits
  • Nutrient testing to gauge potential deficiencies

Dr. Kat’s adjusting style favors lower force chiropractic techniques She primarily utilizes table-assisted adjusting (sometimes called Thompson Technique) combined with Diversified adjusting on a Flexion-Distraction table. At times she will use Impulse IQ, SOT blocks, Activator Methods, and Applied Kinesiology. She is also certified in the Webster Technique, which is used most frequently with pregnant patients, but can be used successfully on any patient (male or female) with pelvic muscular imbalances.

Fast and effective pain relief, reduced inflammation, accelerated tissue repair, increased collagen production, improved nerve function, and increased blood flow are just a few of the benefits that can be experienced with Laser Therapy.

In most patients, the chiropractor is able to determine what is occurring in the musculoskeletal system without the need for imaging technology. Imaging modalities are usually reserved for the more severe cases in which there may be a serious condition present, such as scoliosis, osteoporosis, spinal stenosis, or anything else. If after examination, it is determined imaging would be in your best interest, you will be referred to a local imaging center. Dr. Kat will review the images and radiological findings to ensure a proper course of care is determined for you.

We do not accept Personal Injury or Workman’s Comp cases.
